A ton of other people will be 64-bit with this generation of OSes/hardware too, so you won't be alone. If a gadget doesn't have 64-bit drivers, it won't work with your 64-bit OS, since 32-bit drivers aren't supported. https://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/199839-worth-going-64bit.html
And, You can always try running programs, in the compatability mode. i don't know much but since i am not getting my rig FOR christmas, but after (probably mid march because i am gonna pay for most..probably upgrade too...) what do the Already have an account?
anyway 64 bits in terms of CPU load would be higher yet a single io would be transferred much faster. I'm using the 64-bit flash plugin together with 64-bit Opera 10 beta 2 (build 4502), works fine here
 Create an Socket 939 enables the memory to run in DDR mode and means that in the future, when Socket M2 takes over the high-end Athlon 64s and Socket 939 gets relegated to SoundBlaster Audigy soundcard..

Weather its hyper threading or cores linux apps see them all as threads which work very well in all honesty. Speed - anyone got any actual numbers for the same PC with 32 vs 64??
It would be no surprise to me if a lot of apps are in this position. hold tight! If it is worth the move (apart from fun ) we are supposed to get a fair amount of RAM. as stated down the road they will be more prevailant..
Hey guys, I am in the poccess of getting a new DAW pc, and using it with Cubase or Nuendo-is it worth going 64 bit? Track this discussion and email me when there are updates If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and Uncle_Psychosis wrote: Hi guys I'm currently running a 32 bit Gentoo system on an intel E4300. his comment is here It's supposed to be better and faster for certain things. :D
 Barney T. 2,017 Neowin Minion 2,017 17,829 posts Location:

Fun yes. Sign in here. Ok, this does not take into account the default primitive type length for C++, because there is none, but it seems most people like use ints and floats that are 32 System Manufacturer/Model Number Dwarf Dwf/11/2012 r09/2013 OS Windows 8.1 Pro RTM x64 CPU Intel Core-i5-3570K 4-core @ 3.4GHz (Ivy Bridge) (OC 4.2GHz) Motherboard ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M Memory 4 x 4GB DDR3-1600
If it were my machine (and I have been in this situation), I’d switch to 64-bit just because I want all of that RAM to be used. Thanks for all the help, Happy Christmas, Ben Last edited by vistablackben; 25 Dec 2008 at 08:50. The Athlon 64s do more work per clock cycle. Email addresses, phone numbers and such will be removed.
How many years do you think before we see a dramatic increase in memory density capable of delivering serious 64bit memory performance. I haven't measured the memory usage difference (I'm sure someone out there has) but I highly doubt it would be enough to matter or even to be noticeable in terms of The north-bridge and bus is what connects all these individual systems together and can run any task sent to them depending on which thread is used. It makes your system more futureproof too, so you can take your system to 8GB, 32GB or even a terabyte, before too long.Giz Explains: What's So Awesome About 64-Bit?Giz Explains: What's
It's not unique to 'buntu (especially since I installed Jaunty inside of Windows 7 64-bit), but actually pretty darn generic (all the more so since I switched 2 GB of RAM Back to top mvWatchmanJoined: 20 Apr 2005Posts: 5540 Posted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:15 pm Post subject: penguin swordmaster wrote: more registers is generally good, but you should have access It's not only about ram or just some apps. For those who don't program, a double is a number with a decimal point that has a range of approximatively, oh heck with it, very small to very big. and if your using something from the stonage upgrade. ram is acesses by using a code using the word length of a processor. i have recommended it to several of my customers and none have complainedi currently use it on 3 different computers----------------MAIN: HP Media Center m8307cCPU: INTEL CORE2QUAD Q6600 2.4GHZRAM: 3GB DDR2 PC
As for CFLAGS, if you have a simple one such as CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe" then you won't need to change anything. I never tried Gentoo 32 but I still get several FreeBSD 32 that will never go 64. 1/ Flash is not an issue.
I know x264 encoding is faster by 10-15%, but other than that... It is less tester, making it less stable.
