I check task master and no applications are running and CPU useage is around 27%. This includes the various browser helper objects (BHOs), toolbars like the Google toolbar, and numerous supposedly "Internet tweaking" add-ons. IE 8.0 on the other hand did nothing for several seconds before opening and then was slow to render my home page (www.microsoft.com).
